How to Install Tar on a Backtrack or Kali Linux

Here is a simple tuts for How to install TAR on the Kali Linux.

Instructions:

1) Open the terminal. It is available from the launch menu.

2) Type "tar zxf installer.tar.gz" and press "Enter." Replace "installer.tar.gz" with the name of the installer file. This step extracts the installer.

3) Type "ls" and press "Enter." This command displays the contents of the current directory. There should be a new directory in the list that contains the installation files extracted in Step 2.

4) Type "cd /installerpath/" and press "Enter." Replace "/installerpath/" with the name of the folder found in Step 3.

5) Type "./configure" and press "Enter." Type "make" and press "Enter." Type "make install" and press "Enter." The software is now installed.
